 The best Mermaid Doll ever! December 29, 2008

Since I couldn't decide which color my daughter would like for Christmas, I went nuts and got her all three colors of this mermaid doll- pink, purple and aqua. I have to say I am totally impressed! I paid half of what I paid for the Sleeping Beauty and other dolls this Christmas and this doll is made so well, and is so beautiful. Literally, beautiful.
Beauty is not only skin deep.
There is an aesthetic appeal with the colors, not overpowering with the pinks and purples like some Barbie items can be. There is good color interchange here. The hair is great! The crown fits tightly with a slim, see-through band. Once that's torn though, good luck I guess (of the three, two reattached well, one did not). There is also a surprising ergonomic appeal which is immediately apparent the moment you hold the doll. The silicone (??) skin of the fins is soft, flexible and very durable. Not to mention, artfully done. Bonus points for adding the little sea creatures: a fish for Pink, a dolphin for purple, and a seahorse for aqua.
My daughter was BEGGING for me to give her a bath.
Afterwards they dried well, no paint came off or anything, all was nice. However, there was still somehow a little water leftover inside somewhere and laying down on her bed it made a wet spot the size of her three-year-old's sock, that after having for a hour, so your guess is as good as mine.
Bottom line: Great toy, great product, well made, fantastic value-price ratio and the best-looking mermaid gal you'll find out there. Well done, well done.

I got this for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. She loves playing with Barbies in the tub and this is the first one who will stay underwater while she's pretending. She's really pretty too and very flexible, which my daughter loves.

My child LOVES these dolls. They go swimming with us, to the beach, in the bathtub, you name it. They are a huge hit. They are better liked then similar items I have found in stores. I also think they hold up better. We drain them, head down, and have used mild soap on them so they dont smell musty but other than that, they are great. We have given them as birthday gifts as well and they are always a hit.

My 5 year old has all 3 of these mermaid barbies and she takes a bath with them every night.
They are durable and have held up well with all the baths!

This Barbie gets more play time than any others my daughter has. It stays in the tub and she plays with it every bath. She washes her hair, plays with the fish, and loves how the tail splashes when you squeeze her hips. This splashing tail action takes some practice and hand strength, so really little kids may not be able to make it work right. But it's my daughter's favorite Barbie by far. Best of all, no clothes or shoes to lose!
